Course Description: The discussion section has three purposes:
1) A weekly quiz will be administered covering the previous week’s lecture material
2) Problems will be worked by the TA to illustrate concepts presented in lecture
3) Questions concerning lecture material and/or homework will be answered.

Attendance: Attendance is mandatory in order to take the quiz. However, you may with permission attend any discussion section in the week (Monday to Thursday) to receive credit for that week’s quiz.

Homework: I will be grading the homework which is assigned by Dr. Strickland
in the lecture sessions. Homework requirements are as follows:

1) Use only Engineering paper
2) Write on front side only
3) Write only with pencil
4) Staple
5) Do not fold
6) Circle your final answer
7) Please be neat
Papers not meeting these requirements may be returned ungraded.

Late Homework: Students are allowed to submit one late HW paper in the semester. Late papers should be handed to Dr. Strickland before the start of Monday's class. (This essentially gives you the weekend to complete the paper.) The paper will be graded out of 75%.

Grading Policy: Grading is as follows:
1) 10% of your total course grade for homework. Partial credit will be given
2) 10% of your final course grade for discussion
50% of your discussion grade for quizzes (5% of total course grade)
50% of your discussion grade for attendance (5% of total course grade)
